Google has released a Hindi input app for Android smartphones. It is basically a transliteration keyboard that will transliterate Hindi words typed in English into the Devanagri script.
So if one types the word ‘Namaste’ it will be converted into its Devanagri equivalent. This is much more convenient for users, especially those that are not familiar or comfortable with Hindi script.
Google had a similar transliteration tool available for desktops and has implemented the same on Android. Google also provides a default Hindi keyboard on Android Jelly Bean devices. Check out the demo video below to see how it works. You can download the app store.
